Starting a Maven project from IntelliJ IDEA can get the following error
plugin 'org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-compiler-plugin:3.7.0' not found intellij
The following actions helped me.
Open.
File → Settings → Build, Execution, Deployment → Build Tools → Maven
Check the box - use plugin registry
Then
File → Invalid Caches / Restart
And I did site → Run Maven Build.
