How to practice
Read with the compiler open. Type every snippet by hand, break it once on purpose, then read the error until the fix is obvious.
Small daily reps beat weekend marathons. One lesson per day finishes the course in under two months with the habits intact.
Two capstones, revisited
Two projects prove the fifty lessons: the wordfreq CLI from lesson 47 and the tiny HTTP server from lesson 48. Rebuild both from an empty file before calling the course done.
Revisited means improved: add flags to wordfreq and extra routes to the server. Finished tools teach more than finished tutorials.
Where to go next
Rust rides on systems ideas that predate it. For the memory and socket depth under everything here, study
C for systems depth
next.
Then pick a direction: systems servers, command line tools, or embedded work. The roadmap got you here, and a shipped project takes you onward.
