Introduction
Nginx (engine x) is a web server, reverse proxy and mail proxy. It was built for Unix-like systems and is tested on FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Linux, Solaris, macOS, AIX and HP-UX. Since version 0.7.52 there is also a binary build for Windows.
Igor Sysoev started Nginx in 2002 and published the first release in autumn 2004. Since July 2011 the company Nginx, Inc. develops it; F5 bought the company in 2019.
